When I do a good job a simple wink will do

Please listen when I’m conversing with you

Stand by my side not three steps ahead

Let me guide sometimes instead of being led

I do the little things you take for granted

I run the bases so you can stay planted

Recognize me, I shouldn’t have to ask

Supporting actors usually have no name

They do the work while others enjoy the fame
