Ever Bloom is the only survivor of a car accident that took the lives of her mother, father, sister, and their dog. Since the accident she has been living with her aunt and going to a new school. All her old friends have stopped talking to her and she has become a very different girl then who she was before the accident. She sees auras, can read minds, and if she touches someone she knows everything about them. Studying is no longer necessary. She just knows, and if she tells anyone they will think she’s crazy, so instead she blasts music on an ipod and wears clothes that hide her from the world. But, when she meets Damen her life gets turned upside down yet again. When he touches her the world is blank, she can no longer hear the inner voices of everyone in the room.
When I first started this one I thought it was far too much like Twilight and that there would be a vampire. I was actually surprized by who Damen was. It was a good book that made me smile, even if I thought that at times the characters where a bit flat in places. I must now read book 2! My thanks to the teens who told me to read it!
