The twins, Josh and Sophie, are finally home! Scatty and Joan have been lost in time and Scatty’s twin sister is determined to find out what happened. The bad guys are in trouble by their masters and Dee is in the most trouble of all, but he has a new plan to rule the world himself and use Josh to get it. And to top it off Josh now has to learn fire magic from the master of fire Prometheus (brother to the witch that awoke Sophie). A lot more happens in book 4, but I can’t say too much more without giving away the best parts. There is another book to come… “The Warlock”.
Ever since Harry Potter I have been curious about Nicholas Flamel, but this book has made me more curious about Perenelle, Flamel’s wife. And I don’t see how the twins can be confused on if the Flamel’s are on the side of good or evil…I mean if someone like Joan of Arc is on the Flamel’s side shouldn’t that say something about what side they are on? And who is this mysterious hooded man with a hook for a hand? Did Captain Hook drop into history or is he something all together different! This was a good continuation of the last book, but I think I needed a bit more. It was set in only a few days and gave a lot of back story and stories within stories which worked, but I feel like I was deprived of the twins and Flamels at times and I’m really annoyed that Sophie can’t get to the witch’s memories about Perenelle. But, really if you have read the first then keep reading.
