So… I just finished Burned. First, I have to say their books normally surprise me. I love to read about Zoey and her friends. But, this one did not surprise me. To be honest it was a bit on the dull side, but some big things happen in it that I assume is going to be a part of the bigger story. I still want to read book 8 The Awakened, but I think that has something more to do with my “finish the series mentality.”

So at the end of book 6 Zoey ends up shattering her soul and Heath is moving onto an afterlife. So in this book… Stark blames himself for not protecting Zoey. Aphrodite and Stevie Rae are playing phone tag trying to find a way to bring Zoey back to the land of the living. Stevie Ray is trying to keep Rephaim a secret, while she confronts the bad red fledglings and calls forth a power that she can’t handle. All the while Kalona is still after Zoey in Nyx’s world. With only a few days before Zoey’s body dies can her friends find a way to save her when nothing in history has ever worked to save someone who’s soul has been shattered?
