All Shook Up by Shelley Pearsall

The day after turning 13, Josh receives the news that he will be spending the next several months with his dad in Chicago. Mom has to go to Florida to help grandma recover from a fall. After 8 years of being the “SHARED KID,” it’s just easier to let mom and dad think Josh is ok with the arrangements. Josh is horrified to discover that dad has turned into an Elvis impersonator after loosing his job. On top of that Josh is the new kid in school and someone else at school knows about his dad.

Humorous, well written, this story made me chuckle to see the lengths Josh would go to stop any of his new friends from finding out about his dad.
