Book – Nobody’s Princess by Esther Friesner

Helen is the future queen of Sparta and a spitfire when it comes to getting her way. She wants to be free to do as she pleases and as a girl she is not supposed to do certain things. She wants to learn to fight and defend her country. But always she must consider what the Gods want, what her parents want, and what is considered proper. So in order to learn what she wants she must disguise herself as a boy and learn things without her father, the king of Sparta, finding out. When her sister is to be married Helen discovers a way to go with her. Being away from Sparta leads Helen and her brothers on an adventure that she had only dreamt of.
