In the future the US is called Panam and instead of states there are districts. Twelve Districts, that is after the 13th got bombed into nothingness during the rebellion. As punishment for all the districts rising up against the government each district has to send two kids (1 boy & 1 girl) into the Hunger Games each year. The Hunger Games is a Survival Reality TV show where the kids from each of the 12 districts must fight for their lives and be the last one standing. When Katniss Everdeen’s sister is chosen, she volunteers to go in her sisters place, knowing she will probably not return. When the boy from her district turns out to be the one person who helped her survive at her darkest moment she knows that the Hunger Games will be harder than she ever imagined. Only one can survive!
This is the book that kept me up all night trying to find out what would happen next. If you only read one book this year let it be this one, but be warned you will be on the edge of your seat for the 2nd book.

I don’t like reality shows. period. what made me like this book so much? maybe it’s because there’s more action than previews, commercials, and zooming in the camera to watch a stupid cat fight between a washed up former actor and a rap drag queen. whatever it was, I’m waiting on the edge of my seat for the next one!
I’m not a fan of reality shows either, but with Hunger Games it was totally different. Catching fire was awesome too… but i don’t know which one I like more… WHOOO!!! GO TEAM MOCKINGJAY!!!
I got to read an advance copy of the 2nd book. Look out hunger Games, Catching Fire may be even better!!! But yet again you will be left with questions. Yeah Katniss!!
